Mountainbike Spain is located in unspoilt mountain bike friendly mountains east of Granada in the an area of Andalucia known as the Altiplano de Granada.There are miles and miles of endless off road riding on singletrack double track, both in the high mountains and also the flatter planes of the Altiplano.
Your accommodation base is at Cortijo Sierra Castril. The cortijo is to be found nestleing among the mountains of the Sierra de Castril with open view across the countryside and mountains.
Set in our olive and almond grove, Cortijo Sierra Castril is the perfect place to unwind after a good day in the saddle, and enjoy the sunshine and superb views over the countryside of the Sierra de Castril and Sierra de Cazorla. Picking out some of the routes you have ridden and will ride.
We are on the edge of Puentezuela, a small and very quiet Spanish mountain hamlet and although the area is very tranquil and feels very much in the countryside we are only around 15 mins walk down to the market town of Castril. Here there are bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, banks, even a disco.
Our accommodation comprises of three twin bedrooms and a smaller bedroom with bunk beds, two well appointed bathrooms, a new kitchen dining room, large living room with wood burner in the fireplace for those colder winter nights. It can accommodate 8 comfortably. There is plenty of pleasant sitting areas within the olive grove, offering super views of the surrounding countryside.
As well as mountain biking, our accommodation is a great base for many other activities such as walking, cycling, , rock climbing, fishing, swimming in both the local pool and the lakes of the area, or just chilling out under the Andalucian sunshine.
